I know---I'm the one who found and posted the article about that very hearing and I just cited the July 2004 date!
Guess I am still surprised that confirmation hearings are being held eight months before an appointee leaves. It reminds me of the Mary Frances Berry and the Civil Rights Commission - clinging to a job.
A National Archivist can do much more harm than The Civil Rights Commission can, but we hear nothing about this man staying and staying and staying. I just wonder why.
