Guess I am still surprised that confirmation hearings are being held eight months before an appointee leaves. It reminds me of the Mary Frances Berry and the Civil Rights Commission - clinging to a job.
A National Archivist can do much more harm than The Civil Rights Commission can, but we hear nothing about this man staying and staying and staying. I just wonder why.
I wish someone knew John Grisham and could talk him into a new thriller about this whole business (changing names of course to protect the guilty!)...then, a blockbuster film could come out in oh, summer of 2008, and then wouldn't that just be justice (provided he could write without embellishing it too much)
