ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Earlier today, conservative firebrand and bestselling author Ann Coulter agreed to participate in the 32nd annual meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the nations largest gathering of grassroots conservative leaders and activists, said CPAC Director Stacie Rumenap.
"For years, Anns participation in CPAC has been the highlight for thousands of conservative grassroots activists," said Rumenap. "Her incendiary opinions on issues of the day resonate with our attendees, who always report that the CPAC experience would not be the same without an opportunity to be enlightened by the inimitable Miss Coulter."
CPAC 2004 held in January drew 4,000 attendees to the three-day conference. Speakers included Vice President Dick Cheney, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, Senators George Allen, Zell Miller and Mitch McConnell, keynoter Congressman Mike Pence, and a score of conservative luminaries such as Wayne LaPierre, Oliver North, Michelle Malkin, Phyllis Schlafly, and David Horowitz.
CPAC is a project of the American Conservative Union Foundation, in association with Young Americas Foundation and HUMAN EVENTS. The conference is co-sponsored by over 70 of the nations leading conservative organizations. For continued updates on the program or to register online, visit www.cpac.org.
"CPAC" is not a "political action committee (PAC)" as defined by federal law. The conference name and initials predate the creation of those entities and is merely coincidental.
