Wasn't The Pope opposed to the Iraq war? I guess that doesn't make him "Christian."

Gibson was going to release Moore's film but Gibson could not handle two controversial film releases at the same time. Gibson, on Hannity hinted he did not support Bush and mentioned the lack of WMD as one reason. Hannity was dumbstruck atthe time and tried to explain it away at that time. Hannity, who is invested in promoting the Passion to his listeners did not press the point during the interview.
Gibson, is either a paleo-conservative or what would be called in Europe a Christian Democrat - Christian Democrats are for family values and are for the govt providing services - big govt.
Lastly, let us not forget thatthe Vatican was against the war in Iraq and hinted it was an unjust war.

Mel's father harbors all sort of fringe conspiracy theories about U.S. foriegn policy so I'm not surprised he liked Moore's film. It was Michael Moore's father who saw Mel Gibson's film and not vice versa, at least as reported in the posted article's text.
It is Mel Gibson who is at fault for consorting with the enemy ...

Maybe Mel is simply trying to be gracious. Still, my first reaction was to run for the airsick bag!

nah I dont think Mel will take the paycut....

Hey, don't lump Fahrenheit in with 'Signs.' Signs is based on facts.
Please showme an example or two if these "facts".
And eye witness accounts do NOT constitute facts.

Thank you. His praise of Moore and his vicious film is enough for me. I'm no fan.

or what would be called in Europe a Christian Democrat - Christian Democrats are for family values and are for the govt providing services - big govt. Definitely not, at least to what his public statements have been in the past.
His recent opposition to Prop 71 in California comes to mind, citing not only ethical reasons, but for the reasons of Gov't staying out of it.

People can make exuses or rationalize this all they want. Gibson liked F911. Nuff said. A conservative would never praise that POS or the fat turd who made it.

They're both film-makers who've taken big chances and absorbed mucho criticism. Why wouldn't they recognize a kindred spirit? There's more to life than politics and religion.
To: Pyro7480
I've been saying from the beginning not to put too much faith in Mel politically.

Or to put too much politics in his faith.
