I never really bought that he was this great conservative like many here seemed to believe. This kinship comment does it for me. He's on my boycott list. He suckered a lot of people with Passion though.
Yes he suckered a ton of people around here with that and also with his acting like a military man on movies. Some people have a hard time discerning a real uniform from a costume. I think this Diehard character is probably the closest to his own philosophy.
Well, he fought hard for a Christian film and I'm happy about that.
However, his political opionions suck and so does he. I'm boycotting him.
"He suckered a lot of people with Passion though."
LOL! Yes he did and I'm happy to say that I was not one of the millions who gave whacko Mel more retirement money!!
Moore Controversy at People's Choice Awards

Moore stuffed the ballots.
Mel never claimed to agree with the President on everything.
Being conservative means thinking, not being a level puller like the liberals.
You can be a conservative and oppose the war in Iraq.
Now, I will violently disagree with such a person, but you can be one.
He is not liberal.
How can you "boycott" someone for something so unimportant as agreeing with a person of a different political persuasion? I understand your point, but it's not that simple. I once worked in a state legislature and constituents would come in and say to me that, since the legislator voted the "wrong" way on a single issue, they weren't going to vote for him anymore. Say what??
Mel Gibson is extremely conservative. To be against the war, however, does not mean he's liberal. He looks at war in a "life" context - the importance of not taking life, at all costs. Additionally, agreeing with Michael Moore does not make him liberal either. There are, though I don't know if people would admit to it, many who agree with ideas that are both conservative and liberal at times. It's only natural. And frankly, it's also honest.
