well then. Guess I know where I stand.
A luxery hotel in a volcanic caldera... now there's a good idea.
p.s. what a crying, sobbing shame.
Am I giving away TMI?
You can bet that ELF will target it. They need to have cameras installed for 24 hour viewing.
We're talking about a building of luxury individually-owned condos, operated by the same company as is the Village, with the name Westin slapped on it.
Problems; Hard to get to, almost constants earthquakes and nothing to do in the Summer.
Mono and Alpine (once the object of a gay take over attempt) are the only blue counties in the Sierras
"Sears of the ski world?"
Geez, I never thought of Mammoth like that. Their lift ticket prices never reflected "Sears" prices.
I don't get it. We've stayed in some really nice condo's on the chair 15 side of the mountain many times. Right next to "Snowcreek" which is no "Sears."
I guess the "Vail" and other "worldly" crowd are looking more for the glitz, and superficial crap, than what really counts...the actual mountain in which they ski on.
/jmho, of course
This makes no sense to me.
I've been going to Mammoth since probably 1965, and loving it to this day. It has motels, chalets, condos, lodges all over the place. Doesn't it already have hotels, near the Mountain and just off the main drag? It's got every kind of restaurant you could want, stores of all kinds (except WalMart!)... heck, I remember when it had one gas station, one market, and two or three restaurants.
Further, as long as I've gone there you hear people talknig German, French, Spanish (OK, that's not so unusual) -- how much more international can it get? More turbans?
Makes no sense to me.
