Times of crumbling paradigms are also windows of opportunity for the advance of Christianity. When Douglas Macarthur asked for 10,000 Christian missionaries to come to Japan in 1945, what he got was technocrats, like industrial engineer Edwards Deming. Today, Japan is one of the most materialistic countries on earth. We were somewhat better prepared after the fall of soviet communism. My church ( www.kpic.org ) planted several churches in Eastern Europe. What will we do when God discredits Islam? I want to be part of the answer to that question.
(I grew up under the shadow of "the bomb," and saw the "irresistable" soviet juggernaut collapse overnight. The apocalyptic crazies immediately started looking for other antichrists to cringe before, rather than thanking God for victories within history.)
