I stated an observation. There are many old ladies living in FL and AZ who have no one to take care of them. There are many apartment managers who make regular trips to make sure their lone tenants are still alive, because no one else, not a single family member checks up on them. Yes, they find dead bodies. Sometimes they have no one to notify.
That's a major reason why people have kids and I think that's very selfish. It's like breeding for a slave.
Why don't these 'lone tenants' move in together and become each other's roommates, a la Golden Girls? They would have each other for company as well as being able to share expenses. That's what I would do if I were in that situation. Or has our society become so individualistic that our need for social contact must be damned?
My mother-in-law is an "old lady" who has lived in BOTH
Az and Fla.(currently in FLA) --the rest of the family is in Illinois and NJ, but her eldest son lives a few miles from her in Ft. Lauderdale. Currently her biggest problem is her boyfriend from "the complex" not wanting committment
and possibly finding out she's 87, when he's 77. High school all over again .
