I have a question about your post, please...
Is "God" a disparaging word? Why did you choose to post His Holy Name without an "o?" What am I missing?

Anyone?

I think that is a form of reverence, and not to be uttered lightly.

Jews reverence the name of God so much they refuse to write his middle initial.

because they awe at the name and want to set it apart.

Oh, I don't mean in any way to offend.

In Judaism there is a rule not to put the name of G-d on something that could be thrown away. So when we write His name on something like a regular piece of paper or a cyber message, we leave out the o. It's actually a sign of respect for G-d's holiness.

To people of the Jewish persuasion, the true name of the Lord is so holy that anything that bears any resemblance to an actual name is to be avoided. Many feel that God is to close to being a name.

This poster, of the Christian persuasion, knows that god is only a term for that which people consider deities in general. However, this poster is usually willing to defer to the sensibilities of other followers of the lord of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Many folks leave out the vowel when writing so that, should the material be desecrated in some way, it would not be blasphemous.

Desecration can occur when printed matter is soiled or dropped or stepped-upon. For a web page, I guess copy-and-pasting to DU would do it...
