Wow! I never thought any of them would live.

Thanks very much for the bump. This makes my day.

You're welcome.

I went through the old thread and found those who posted opinions that were as "pessimistic" as mine. I felt it was a freeper duty to get the good word out, so spent some time getting the bumps out.

I was very happy when I saw this news, it had to be shared.

Great news! I posted the original thread about this. Nobody had even slight hope that they could have survived. I guess the lack of debris was the key. And the fact that they were snorkeling (instead of running out there as the sea receeded) implies that all of them, even the kids, were at least adequate swimmers.

Just terrific news!

All of the people who say that that woman was an idiot for rescuing her children

Can you point me to a single person who said such a thing?

I haven't seen one.

I was responding to this in post #26.

Here's the other thread, many posters thought that the woman was an idiot

But the family's fate remained unknown until today, when the Swedish mum came forward
to say they had all survived.

"I was yelling at them to run, but they couldn't hear me," 37-year-old Karin Svaerd
told the daily Expressen, describing her desperation as her three sons, brother and
brother-in-law snorkelled in the water last Sunday, unaware of the pending danger.

"Listen to your mother."

Hmm...maybe this is a good reminder to me...and others?

Nobody called the woman an idiot. I have no idea why that person wrote that.

I was pretty surprised by the post but it was so straightforward that I couldn't imagine someone was mistaken about the observation. After your post, I went and looked at the original thread and you are right I didn't see any comments along the lines of those in #26. Oh well, I guess everyone makes mistakes.

I notice that some personal photos are starting to show up in European and Asian papers.

These are the best I can do now, but they do give you an idea of what mom, mad and and the kids look like.

I'm sure more will show up.

They have quite a story to tell.

For years I jumped at airshows in Europe; my jump stories will pale in comparison to that one event.

Thanks for the additional information.

Here's a good view from an Italian paper.

Mom, Dad and the kids....I got it right this time.

This is at home in Sweden after the event. Her foot looks injured. A German paper said she was swept onto a palm tree, and that the kids were swept onto high Ground.

They look down their noses at the rest of us because we don't hold the mean=spirited views they do. Whoever they are, they're not people who have the same vlues that we do, which, of course, THEY mock us for. They make FR look like crap, IMO.

Since I am one of the older members around here (well predating my 1998 current sign-up) I am not sure that ALL of the old members are like that. I have recently discovered, among other things, that advocating the hospitable reception of citizens from our friends and allies is the equivalent of fostering jihadis, just as apparently you have learned that lowering our flag in memory of the world's present tragedy demeans the symbol of our great nation.
