Before moving here, we were on the Sub Base there in Bangor, Washington. OMG!! There are Sailors and then there's Submariners. LOL! Very tight knit group!

jm, thanks for the info that the passengers have been removed.
Peach - Happy New Year to you - may we all have a happy and healthy New Year! Once again, I am hoping that by the flip of a calendar page, that circumstances will change, but it does change my perspective and my hope, for some reason. So, I'm looking forward to writing "2005" and leaving the pain and disappointment of 2004 behind, if not the Bills! LOL!

I wasn't a Bubblehead, thank goodness. I was, however, on an ASR... There are Sailors, and there are Submariners, and then there are Sailors who rescue Submariners ;o)

I just drove a friend to the base chapel at Little Creek and had no problem getting in. If the Navy thought they had a real situation they'd clamp everything down. Then again I've been back about 20 minutes. Maybe I missed the clamp down.

BAD CHAD! BAD! Hehe!
I've been teaching my boys not to refer to anyone in the Navy by their "nicknames" that their Dad and his buddies use.
And my oldest just read what you posted. Hehe! The hubby thought it was funny as well. So? I guess I'll have to have another little discussion about this.

Little Creek's a ways away from NAS Norfolk. I wonder if they closed I-526? One of the runways goes right over it.

I hadn't realized until now (and your post) that the passengers were removed. Thank goodness.
Years ago my husband and I had what we called our sh_t years; everything turned bad financially. It all turned around but some years were just disastrous. May next year be better for you dear Freeper.

That's okay. We decided we didn't need no rescuin' so we got rid of all the ASRs.

In my neighborhood, everyone in the military is represented twice over. When the guys are outside doing their little "male bonding" session, some of the things they say to each other about fellow military persons is just enough to make a Sailor's wife blush. (Almost, but not quite! Hehe!)
Ops Puke? Chad, we're going to have to change your bad ways. Shall I call you when we have our little discussion? LMAO! I'm sure you could add a few "insightful" facts.

THEY NEED TO GET THE TV CAMERAS OUT OF THERE!!! Remember the movie, The Siege, the terrorists had a bomb on a bus and were waiting for the cameras to show up so they could blow it up on live TV!

Can you feel the love or what?

First reaction is, not terror. Hadji wouldn't announce it, they'd just pop it and watch the cameras gleefully roll. I'm sure you've called this one right.

And then there's us Intel types. Chad, I trained the Navy Intel types, 16XX at Dan Neck, and worked on their C3I systems at LANTFLT. I miss it so much.
