A FOUR-year-old Thai boy has been reunited with his parents after the monster wave that hit southern Thailand left him stranded in a tree without food and water for more than two days.
"It is a miracle that he is alive and still asks for sweets and biscuits," Vathanyu Pha-opas' father said today. "I don't know how he managed to survive with only minor bruises and some mosquito bites.
"I had given up hope of seeing him again."
Suthipong Pha-opas, 26, said his son was playing near their wooden house when the tsunami triggered by the world's biggest earthquake in 40 years smashed into Khao Lak, a popular mainland resort north of Phuket.
More than 1000 Thais and foreign tourists were killed there.
"I was convinced I'd lost him because he could not swim," the fisherman said from the hospital where the boy was under observation.
"I was out five miles offshore in a boat with a friend when the big waves hit. We floated in the sea four or five hours before being rescued."

Thank God for this blessing.
Let us pray for the rescue of more stranded survivors.
God works in wonderous ways.
in the Man's hands.
Cool.
I cried my heart out when I saw the pic of the Father - holding his dead Son's hand. His boy was 10 yrs old.
My boy is 10 yrs old.
I cannot fathom the grief if I were to lose my boy.....
My heart goes out to all over there, may God Bless and ease your pain.
