He, I think, ignores the change in opinion of the elites in the last forty years, which is AWAY from that of people in general. Hnec, relgious people in our society are simply holding to traditional American values and are reacting to elite efforts to abandon those values in favor of the "transnational" values that we see among European elites.

it is obvious the ivy leaguers do not give a rats behind what the world thinks of them. (traitors, wimps, ignoramuses, could not get a real job, could not survive in the real world, fi fi's, pansies, weaklings etc.)
actually, many were Unitarians (eg T Jefferson)and Deists (whatever that is). I do not think many of the constitution writers were Evangelicals actually.
Unitarians did not exist did they? I thought that "chuch" came to exist as a result of the homosexual movement of the last 4 decades.

History Channel did a special on Ben Franklin and that made it fairly clear that all the founding fathers were very Christian and even attending certain churches to be politic even if it was outside their denomination.
