To: eureka!

And here is my reply to his reply:

First of all, I am NOT a sir; you'd know that if you had actually read my email, as I signed it.

And, secondly, I read the EXACT quote in the Washington Times, so I know EXACTLY what he said; the White House may have to be politically correct and dance around you UN posers, but the rest of the people in the United States do NOT.

Who exactly were you referring to when you said "stingy," if not the United States and other nations?

This IS your statement, isn't it?

But U.N. Undersecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Jan Egeland suggested that the United States and other Western nations were being "stingy" with relief funds, saying there would be more available if taxes were raised.
"It is beyond me why are we so stingy, really," the Norwegian-born U.N. official told reporters. "Christmastime should remind many Western countries at least, [of] how rich we have become."
"There are several donors who are less generous than before in a growing world economy," he said, adding that politicians in the United States and Europe "believe that they are really burdening the taxpayers too much, and the taxpayers want to give less. It's not true. They want to give more."

All your snarky remarks have done is turn the American citizens against YOU and your program. It's none of your or the UN's business how much this country and it's citizens donate to any particular charity. We already give more than any other country to the UN now; where's that money? Don't you budget for disasters? You have absolutely NO business telling us how or what to donate.

We are a sovereign country, in case you have forgotten.

You may call us "stingy," but we call you and the UN "wasteful".........and downright corrupt.

LOL. Methinks they know that they are not loved here. Indeed, I would not be surprised if they are, inside, less than totally saddened by this new "opportunity to lead". Color me cynical but Rwanda/Sudan etc. shows that the UN is exactly as you have called them. May they rot in H*ll....

Here is my quick e-mail to Egeland,

"Mr. Egeland,

I am writing to express my deep disgust for your recent comments, which I have seen in full context, concerning the supposed stinginess of “rich” nations. The so-called “rich” nations you refer to are basically the only UN member states that provide substantial international aid. Without these stingy nations the UN would have naught in terms of monetary and non-monetary aid. Although I whole-heartedly disagree with your conclusions regarding the giving nature of “rich” nations I would implore you and your fellow UN bureaucrats to keep on running your mouths and insulting the cows from whose utters you suck. You and your ilk can only aid in the efforts of patriotic Americans in disassociating our nation from your corrupt, ineffectual, and anti-American “organization”."

BTW, leave it to that snarky dingbat, Ceci Connelly, to take up the UN's clarion call that the U.S. is indeed "stingy".

I saw her on Fox today twice, and twice this was her message.

Hey. We agree again. We better not keep this up. Isn't there something to argue about? :)

I think you were way too nice given their provocations. But that is probably why my email to my Mayor is blocked. Nice is good, I guess. Good job.

Way to go Howlin, excellent reply.

Given the choice to donate to the Red Cross or the UN I hope the US gives to the Red Cross.

One major problem in dealing with the third world remains govt. corruption. Short of placing the needed help right in the peoples hands it's near impossible to make sure funds don't get siphoned off into the wrong hands.

NO on will wind up giving more than the US, we always do.

You've inspired me. I emailed him myself and suggested he contact "the J. Kerrys at the following address..." and that they would be "ever so happy to help as they are so unstingy....etc. providing he's back from Cambodia where he often spends Christmas......"

I saw the interview and he isn't misquoted.

The UN Flunky for Sticking It to America said what he meant and meant exactly what he said.

Go get 'em, Howlin.

The American people are rich enough to give away more money than all other nations combined--and in fact are the richest and most prosperous nation, as well as the most generous nation, the world has ever known--because they are not overtaxed.

They would be richer and more prosperous--and would have more largesse to give away--if their taxes were lowered.

Socialism has failed every time and everywhere it has been tried.

Many people didn't have to try it to know that it would fail.

Great thread!
If the United States wants to aid (within reason) the victims of natural disasters, okay by me. But if my tax dollars come within a hundred miles of the corrupt, filthy fingers of the creeps at the scumbag United Nations, then I will have a real problem. I shall be keeping a careful eye on my Congressman and Senators.

I hate these people that talk like our charity is their entitlement. We are the most generous nation but we do not like getting badgered for more and more, especially when they don't spend it wisely.
