I remember a couple of years ago when a WWII contact MINE washed up on shore somewhere in the northeast. The Navy had to tow it out to sea and detonate the dang thing. B-I-G BOOM!

After seeing a picture of this 4,000 lb. buoy....I was hoping that someone would have the sense to test for explosives; or at least make sure that it was really safe to let it lie on the beach.
