I am waiting patiently for a picture of the ketchup lady to explain the reasons for this problem.

Hey, if this trend continues, there's a possibility of one less Democrat Congressman from Massachusetts! : )

What member of the human race would ever live there let alone visit it? Live there? That's a good question. But I have had several VERY nice vacations that included places in Massachusetts.

I did my part. Moved from Mass to Ohio just this year.

My word! A Catholic state losing population.
"Escaping" costs in Boston doesn't mean that they would leave the State. Most people just move out of the region that has the high costs unless the whole State is socialist enough to have to make more people poor by their socialists standards.
Maybe all that will be left is Kennedy and Kerry, neither of whom will produce anything.

Massachusetts is generally a beautiful state full of small Colonial/Federal era villages. Boston is a typical big city, crappy parts and nice parts. I don't like the politics of Massachusetts and I certainly would not live there but it has many great and historic places to visit and is well worth the trip.

I bet those leaving were in the peak of their child bearing years. Expect MA to lose even more representation in Washington after the 2010 and 2020 reapportionments.

I speculate it was because of the "fisting" they were getting.

Sorry but I can't believe that Mass is the only State. I live in NY and we have been literally BLEEDING people for 8+ years. Every year more and more people move away.
