Of course in that family, it's all considered good fun.
LOL........the Christmas Eeeeeek fest is on !!
I used Triflon.
I like trifon (triflo) better. Not sure you can get it anymore.
I barely remember that stuff. Came out right before the emergence of Break Free, IIRC. Pretty much the same stuff.
Cool! Thanks.
What do you think of the teflon lubes? I've been using the Hoppes Dri-lube for awhile now but only in very friendly conditions (indoor storage, indoor range) and so haven't really tested it in the field.
Now, if you're REALLY into high-temperature field testing, I'd recommend loading your firearm and putting it in the oven. Nothing like it. This guy tried it... ;-)
Dunno. Saw the words "lubication" and "pistol" and thought of you.
I love shooting. I have shot my share of exotice weapons. :-)
I have shot full auto MAC-10s (leagally on a range of course), M-16s, M-60s, H&Ks, and the like.
Thanks, Ex-Soldier, for posting this. b.
Great minds think alike. Was gonna ping you on this earlier but just shook my head and kept on going.
Yep, I read the article.
And what I was taught was that if your weapon is visibly wet, it's over-lubricated.
(Personally, I use MilTec-1, applied with a pipe cleaner to to the rails and bearing surfaces).
WD40 is a penetrent, not a lubricant.
It's great for freeing up what's stuck, but it provides next to no lubrication and it causes rust.
Thanks for the ping and the lub recommendations.
I really like that Sendero model, too, but I have my heart set on the 7mm Rem Mag. The reason I chose to stay away from the 300 Rem Ultra Mag was because of its reputation as a barrel eater. Got an opinion on that? Either way, both of those rounds have about the best ballistics curerntly available over the counter. Tell me about the scope you put on that Sendero.

I'll put in some praise for Tetra Product stuff. Their oil and grease and cleaners are my absolute favs. Very good stuff.
"We should be more hospitable and invite the trolls to attend one of Eaker's Family Firepower Demos in person."
To work as target holders?
Quality single/double action in .45 Colt is this year's mountain gun from S&W. I think a couple years ago they did it in .45 ACP.
The Dunk-it product probably works great, I'll have to try it some time. I use Hoppes, quite costly initially, in a 5 gallon bucket with all my handguns at the end of a range day hanging from coat hangers in the soution for the hour or so it takes for me to sort brass and get the shotguns and rifles cleaned up. I pull them out one at a time, pass brushes through the chambers and barrels, and use pressurized air to blast the solution and now loosened crud from each gun. Then wipe each down with a slightly oily rag and run oiled patches through the chambers and barrels with your choice of quality gun oil, lubricate the important spots, re-install grips, and you're good to go. Don't forget to run dry patches through chambers and barrels before firing next time.
It almost took more time to type this than it takes to perform the job.
"Fellow FReepers. How do you feel about WD-40 as a firearm lubricant?"
Not good for guns, bicycles, motorcycles, door hinges, penetrating oil, cutting oil, protectant, or lubricating oil.
I can think of no use for WD-40 that dozens of other products can do SO much better. THROW THE STUFF AWAY!
Look Spoutin' Bull, if I knew how to do that html stuff I'd post that picture so everyone could see jest how ugly you are!!!
