I have heard that Hans Bethe (after developing the carbon cycle theory), was strolling one evening with his wife. She commented something like, "Don't the stars look pretty tonight, Hans." Bethe supposed replied, "Yes, they do. And I'm the only person in the world who knows how they do it."
