HARRISBURG, PA-The American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania, Americans United for Separation of Church and State and attorneys with Pepper Hamilton LLP filed a federal lawsuit today on behalf of 11 parents who say that presenting "intelligent design" in public school science classrooms violates their religious liberty by promoting particular religious beliefs to their children under the guise of science education.

"Teaching students about religion's role in world history and culture is proper, but disguising a particular religious belief as science is not," said ACLU of Pennsylvania Legal Director Witold Walczak. "Intelligent design is a Trojan Horse for bringing religious creationism back into public school science classes."

The Rev. Barry W. Lynn, Americans United Executive Director, added, "Public schools are not Sunday schools, and we must resist any efforts to make them so. There is an evolving attack under way on sound science...Read More

One of them is the fundamentalist evolutionist. Just look at the religious fervor with which even political conservatives will defend evolution once they latch onto it.

Ya just don't get it. Again. Here, let me rephrase for you:

One of them is the fundamentalist anti-abortionist. Just look at the religious fervor with which even political conservatives will defend the right to life once they latch onto it.

You hopefully noted that I didn't say there was anything wrong with being a fundamentalist per se. I merely noted that there's more than one type of them for the benefit of those who like to ridicule "fundies", unaware that they may be "fundies" themselves. ;-)

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

His argument about Library of Congress designatons notwithstanding, it's not considered a scientific work.

Look at that sentence and find the inconsistancy. Hint: why would the argument about the Library of Congress be notwithstanding?

Is it your position that any argument not attributing biodiversity to randomness is "unscientific?"

DR. SCHOCHASTIC post 189:
In reading this thread I can say we have met the real enemy of our Republic.

How very French of you. The French Revolutionists said the same as the executed Lavoisier and other scientists.

My response:
The American Revolution gave us our Republic, the times, of course, were pre-Darwin. The founding fathers weren’t pointy headed atheists and anti-creationists like what we see on this thread. They believed in God, they believed in a Creator, their writings bear witness of it.

Your sentiments, however, with the rest of the anti-creationists posting on this thread are alien to the American Revolution. Your sentiments have to do with the French Revolution, not the American. Those anti-bible, anti-God idealists are your bosum buddies, those folks were so anti-God they even tried to change the biblical 7 day week.

Your French Revolution soul-mates gave us socialism and communism. Your anti-God, anti-creation ideal is the root. The French is the revolution you have empathy with, not the American. Your belief and the rest of your ilk, is the base for Hitler and Lenin’s socialism, and its fruits, 150 million people (round numbers, aprox. 50 million died in WW2) killed, and the cultural war we, who believe in pro-creationist ideals, are waging right now.

Hence why I say YOU and your ilk are the enemy.

Now I realize you atheists and anti-creationists don't have much use for me, fine, were even, I don't for you either. I count you the enemy. When I say "I pledge allegiance to the USA and to the Republic for which it stands," My allegiance is to the biblical values this Republic was founded on and stands. Your beliefs are its antithesis.

Ah, lies and ranting. The last resort of a desperate creationist who clearly has no rational arguments to offer.

You forgot "fluoridation".... no one will take your rant seriously unless you include fluoridation, along with lockjaw, spinal curvature, shingles, social infections, halitosis, and earthquakes in your litany of evils caused by evilootion.

May you keep well and revel in the purity of your precious bodily fluids.

Yours Truly,

"Scientists from disciplines from genomics to paleontology rely heavily on evolution and support it 100%."

So just because "scientists" (and where did you get the "100%" figure?) support it, does that necessarily make it true?

Anyone ever consider suing the ACLU for false advertising. They seem to support civil liberties that don't exist while fighting against others that actually do exist. They call themselves the American Civil Liberties Union, but that name is extremely misleading. That in itself is fine until they start soliciting donations. At that point, people are donating money under a false pretense, which I believe is illegal.

Any lawyers on FR care to offer an opinion? I'd love to hear it.

I really do think they're fluoridating the water. I just need to find a way to prove it and expose them!!! Then they'll have to take me seriously.........
