IRAQI CITIZENS' OIL FUND Incorporates the goals for Iraq Outlined by Donald Rumsfeld
In 2004, Iraq's oil revenues, which have reached over $12 billion through August, are projected to total $20 billion (US) for the year, up from approximately $6 billion (US) in 2003. These revenues are expected to increase in successive years.
The Iraq Plan Organization proposes the founding of an Iraqi Citizens' Oil Fund to provide regular payments to all citizens by a new organization to be established by the Iraq Government. The new fund would be similar to the Alaska Permanent Fund funded by oil revenues and operated for the benefit of the citizens of the State of Alaska in the United States. Iraqi citizens seeing the prospect of receiving regular payments from their government - rather than paying money to it - are much more likely to be willing and enthusiastic supporters of the new government.
Fortunately, Iraq has significant oil resources, which can be used to benefit all Iraqis.
The Iraq Citizens Oil Fund proposal would give each Iraqi citizen a true stake in the economic foundation of their newly established government. Each citizen - man, woman, and child- would become a direct partner in Iraqs economic and political future.
By the establishment of the Iraqi Citizen's Oil Fund, the principle of individual ownership would become a primary hallmark of the new government. Citizens who are guaranteed economic power by the new government will naturally support the re-established system. And, with vested property rights, citizen-owners will be highly motivated to join together to devote their efforts to building their countrys future stability and prosperity and defending it from those interests that seek its destruction.
NOTE: An alternative approach could involve the placing of the Iraq's oil resources in a stock company and awarding all citizens a stock interest, which would pay regular dividends (quarterly and perhaps monthly) and increase in value over time. Restrictions could be established to prevent the re-sale of the corporation's stock to foreign interests.
The architects of the new Iraq have the power to replace the former government monopoly over natural resources with the Citizens Oil Fund, providing all Iraqis a direct ownership stake in their countrys most valuable resource. Such a plan is in the best interest of Iraq and all Iraqis. It also represents a practical and achievable approach to create vested property rights for all citizens in the new Iraq.

He'll have no problems with lack of faith from this NCO. I want Donald Rumsfeld as my SecDef. Period. VP Cheney would be my second choice.
/john
And here The Christian Science Monitor is doing its "journalistic best" to increase it.
I hope Rummy holds on, I love his press conferences! He just puts the Socialist Democrats panties in a TWIST!!
Whe they ask Nancy Pelosi a question concerning Rummy she starts to bite her lipp and her eye lids start to twitch, have you noticed? It's a riot!!
This is the age-old Washington game of an executive branch bureaucracy trying to knock off the Secretary they don't like. Leaks to the press, signing up friendly Senators... it's all been seen a thousand times. They are messing with the wrong guys. Watch for some "resignations" soon among the perfumed princes. This crap will not be tolerated by Bush. Not in the 2nd term. |
Big Rumsfeld ~ Bup!
Herr Rumsfeld is my fav Admin figure too. He played "politics" before the election when it came to uprooting Mosques that harbored terrorists. That did cost lives, but I am sure Bush and the Generals went along with it. Rummy also knows that elections are the key to our withdrawal.
I pray, thought jackals will continue to yap and nip at 'em, these two guys will stay on course.
Members of Congress dictate military budgets and weapon systems. It maybe time to hold Hagel accountable for something...
When is the GOP AND main stream right wing media go on the offense?
More payback from Hanoi Kerry
WAKE UP MAIN STREAM RIGHT WING MEDIA!
Don't be like the silent majority in the 60's and 70's
and turn your back on America and cave in to the anti war minority.
Speak up for America today!
Kerry was an illegal candidate
and is an illegal US Senator per
US Constitution 14th Amendment Section 3

I took a survey this weekend of the people I know in the military who have served under Donald Rumsfeld. Active duty and retired, regular Army to NG, all ranks from an E2 through SSG to a Full Bird.
Some having served in Iraq, some having served in Afghanistan, some about to go.
Every man and woman in my sphere, supported Secretary Rumsfeld.
The following are a sample of the sentiments I received from those who actually served in Iraq-
unlike Hagel, McCain, Kristol, Lugar, Collins, Warner, Dowd, etc.
"Re Rumsfeld, I didn't think much of the resignation calls until I read Bill Kristol's column today. I'm now wondering if there is going to be a groundswell.
I personally like him."
" Those calling for Rumsfeld to step down are weak."
If a Senator has a problem with the way the SecDef is conducting business, take it privately, but, never ,never go public during a time of war.
It only emboldens the enemy and demoralizes troop morale.
Unless of course, that was the intended purpose of the criticism.
And unfortunately, with too many of these Senators, on both sides of the aisle, it's hard to tell what is their motivation.
On Capital Gang Saturday night, Al Hunt, Margaret Carlson and Mark Shields agreed that Rumsfeld should go because of the way he treats reporters.
Kate O'Beirne was on fire :
O'BEIRNE: "These aren't party regulars that are criticizing George Bush. The combination of John McCain, Chuck Hagel, Trent Lott and Susan Collins are
unlikely to get the administration to change its mind about the important job and good job they think Rumsfeld's doing.
The only question they raise is where's Lincoln Chafee? And these are all supporters of the war.
I didn't hear a single one of them say, Wait to invade Iraq until you're ready to fight a sustained urban insurgency.
None of them said that.
And I don't know if any one of them has up-armoring vehicles been their top priority for the past year?
I don't think so."
O'BEIRNE:" Excuse me! As the only person who's defending the secretary,
might I point out to the critics, to the armchair generals, you have to make one of two arguments.
You have to argue either General Casey, General Abizaid and before him, General Franks,
are either incompetent or cowardly because they haven't asked for more troops.
They've all been asked.
In fact, they're tired of being asked, they tell people -- constantly being asked,
Do you have everything you want and need, including number of troops, and they constantly say yes."
This bunch in DC would have hated George Patton.
Democrats like to create nonsensical issues to distract Republicans' attention.
The people elected Bush BECAUSE he shows good judgment by putting people like Rumsfeld in the cabinet. Rumsfeld should stay. With a vengeance.
