Not to butt in or anything, but maybe in this universe there is room for varying opinions of the value of Hemmingway's literary works...
Of course: taste is perhaps the most subjective of all things. I don't think everyone needs to love or even like Hemingway's work. But since his declarative, stripped-down prose style pretty much defined the American narrative in the 20th century, I think it's safe to say he was a literary "giant," for what it's worth.
Not when you base your personality on the one confused individual.
