That cemetary became so overwhelming that I had to go wait in the car. I just sat there and dried.
Thought about you immediately onyx, as I read this article. The Battlefield has its own stories to tell as do many other sites in Vicksburg.

I saw your post about Carnton. I too had a very unusual thing that happened to me there.
I would like to hear your stories too. I am planning a trip to Carnton as I am studying the Battle of Franklin and the aftermath for a report I am doing. THANKS
It's smoke. I took some pix of my new house recently. I forgot I was smoking a cig whilst taking them. They looked pretty freaky allright, until I remembered.
However, there's something IN the smoke that looks pretty strange. It doesn't seem to wrap around them or anything, THAT's the smoke. But it might look like the devils head. Or it could be the back of a dude wearing a union suit with suspenders. Cain't tell. It is a little strange. Cue the X-files music.
There would have to be no breeze for the effect I'm talking about to occur, so that the smoke hung in the air. THAT is what caused the effect in the pictures I took. Normally they would not come out that way.
