Barbra Streisand says she's doing well after going under the knife to remove a polyp in her colon. "During a routine colonoscopy earlier this year, Barbra Streisand's doctor discovered a benign polyp," her rep told us. "The removal of the single polyp was done earlier this month, and its benign nature was reaffirmed. It did not delay her scheduled promotional activities for 'Meet the Fockers.'"
The "Yentl" star, nervous about surgery in general, seems to be okay.
"I don't think it's a big deal," one friend of Babs told us. "I just saw her last week, and she looked fine."
But The National Enquirer reports that Streisand was terrified that the polyp was cancerous.
"Shortly before the operation, Barbra was shaking and saying, 'It can't be cancer, it just can't,' " a source told the tab, which reports that the reason for the delay of the procedure was because Streisand is "deathly afraid of surgery."
Polyps can be an early sign of colorectal cancer, which affects 150,000 Americans a year.

Babs plays the Mother Focker
If it was Animal House and Something About Mary combined funny, I still wouldn't go. Kind of like trying to eat a steak with a curly hair on it. It may not be ruined, but oh yeah, it's ruined.
Now how will she sing....that Polyp was the SOURCE of her voice, and she's been speaking out of her polyp all her life!
I think that's exactly why they came up with the name.
Flame if you wish, but I thought that "Meet the Parents" was hilarious.
Cant we stay out of Bab's colon?
"These pictures, if released to the public would easily direct any person directly to my colon. The privacy of my colon has been violated!"
The complete content of the suit, including images of Streisand's anus and colon should be posted on the Smoking Gun website later today.
I'm surprised she didn't call Katie Colonic to film the whole thing! Would have taken up at least two days on "Today"!!
Agreed. I had one 2 years ago. No big deal.
The prep (strong laxatives) is worse than the procedure.
TOO much information......
Its a sequel to "Meet the Parents", and in that movie, Ben Stillers character was named Gaylord Focker. Calling it "Meet the Bensons" wouldn't have made any sense.
"The YENTL star????? When the hell did she do YENTL???"
Ranks right up there with the worst movies I have seen.
Results from a visual self-examination?
You wish.
