Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!
You can employ pipelining as well on Mozilla Suite/Netscape 7x browsers. They're based on the same open-source Gecko Engine build.
Thanks, I would love to dump Frontpage but at the moment I don't think I can drop 300 bucks on Dreamweaver to say nothing of the fact I need this website revised and up in the next 24 hours. LoL Life is grand!
Thanks for the advice.

PING me
thanks
Sounds like it could be a server side problem. The next time it happens to you, try opening the link with a different browser to see if it's a problem with Firefox. If the link works in the other browser, download and reinstall Firefox. This has never happened to me.
yes. I have DSL and Cable. I use DSL as my backup when/if my cable goes out(for work). My bandwidth on DSl is about 350kbps and my cable is about 3000kbps. Both use a modem.
Please add me to your Firefox ping list. Thanks!
Bump in case of screw up!
Blink has become a freeware HTML editor. I like it because it has HTML pane, Preview pane and Browser pane.
Check it out as a sub for FrontPage.

I am using Mozilla Firebird .6 and I don't see it listed. Should I upgrade to something else?
Thanks for the tip! It works great!
That did give me a little extra speed. Thanks, KORN!
In fact you stated it very clearly to anyone who has used a computer to print web pages. Happy to help. Though doing the same via FireFox print preview works too and better IMHO.
I just saw that somewhere yesterday. It looks like it was ripped right out of a car dashboard. It even comes with a cigarette lighter! *ROFL*
bumperoni...
I don't know what I did wrong but evidently my cookies were disabled or something. Keep getting messages on Firefox about URL redirection. IE works OK. Any idea what I did wrong. I even reinstalled Firefox to no avail.
