GOD THE FATHER... and liberal view for home abuse and violence against women.

(...) GOD THE FATHER...

But some experts believe any male-dominated religion, in which God and his prophets or apostols are male figures, creates conditions for the subordination and abuse of women.

Predominantly Catholic Poland, although free from "honour killings", has a problem with violence against women, rooted in the strong influence of the Catholic church on public life, Polish minister for gender equality Magdalena Sroda said.

"Catholicism does not directly support or oppose violence against women. But there are indirect links through culture which is strongly based on religion," Sroda told Reuters.

"It is a structure based on patriarchal domination of God the Father and the less important role of woment can be seen for example in the letters of Saint Paul," she said.

Asma Jahangir, U.N. Special Rapporteur on religious freedom, said many courts condoned patriarchial violence by letting the perpetrators get away with "a slap on the wrist".

"In 405 documented cases of honour killings in Afghanistan so far this year only 20 arrests were made," she said.

Zorayha Rahim Sobrany, deputy minister for Women's Affairs in Afghanistan, said the concept of women's equality to men was slow to take root, but that progress was being made.

"We need time. We must move step by step. If you go too fast, the reaction is that people close themselves," she said.

I am so tired of "some experts" or "some people". Usually the some expert or people is the reporter themselves or a wacko feminist studies nutjob that no reporter will directly cite because to do so would expose their story as a total fraud.

As for the reporter who would support writing this story, these are the same fruitloops who consider all heterosexual sex to be rape.

More shrill feminist nonsense!

I think this is another attempt by the feminazis to exercise power and farther radicalize their twisted political agenda. When Jesus spoke of His Father and taught us how to pray: “Our Father Who Art in Heaven,” he didn't say mother, he said, father.

Gotta question: Where did sexism come from? OK, evil hearts, to be sure. But how did it get institutionalized?

Religion is the one place where sexism has been favored for millenia. Only recently (the last hundred years or so, a short time in recorded human history) have we managed to back away from it, such as giving women full societal rights. The feminazis, I believe, look rightly to religion as the source of sexism, and when you see all the religious people here at FR who don't want women preachers or women political leaders, you have to acknowledge religious belief as the reason they're holding on to the old notions.

I guess one can argue that there is no sexism, nor has there ever been, but don't expect too many people to take that line of reasoning too seriously.

I believe that is the one thing the Single Women and Computer programmers have in common >>> They both dread the thought of missing their period.

Thanks for the Apostrophe !! I needed the attitude check !

Thanks for your good humor ... I personally would rather be pregnant than ... you know ... which is one reason we have seven children so far!

Cheers!
