SAN FRANCISCO (AP) 12.9.04, 8:10a -- Senator Dianne Feinstein is describing a harrowing experience during her visit to Iraq last week.
Feinstein told KCBS radio during take-off from Baghdad, the C-130 military transport plane she was a passenger on was forced to take evasive action because of a what may have been a missile attack.
The senator told the station that shortly after take-off, she could see light flashing through portholes on the side.
The pilot then began taking what Feinstein described as -- "extraordinary evasive action."
Feinstein says once the plane landed the pilot explained to her that there was no way to determine if the plane really came under a missile attack because once the warning system goes off, he automatically takes evasive action.
Feinstein says passengers on board were shaken up a bit, but she was not concerned after the first few moments.
Sorry, since this is a lib telling the story, and they cannot tell the truth about anything at all, I really question this story.
Don't you know the pilot did it just to knock Sen. Anti-Military around a bit?

She didn't publicly announce her flight plan in advance so everyone in Iraq would know about it??? /sarcasm

Given the circumstances, it's certainly plausible. And the pilot can at least verify that he took evasive action.

Make the plane lighter. Throw the Senator out.
The pilot, the crew I would believe. Not Feinstein.
So far, I have heard no independent confirmation of this from anyone other than DF. Until then, I am skeptical.
It would not surprise me at all that this lib would fabricate a story for sympathy.
I would not put it past them at all. The pilot is the supreme authority in the air and can do exactly as he(she) damn well pleases.

She should write a ban on antiaircraft missiles. That would fix the problem.

So what if it didn't happen and they dont exist. WOuldn't be the first time a senator did something like that.
