BERLIN (Reuters) - A German couple was shocked after a 275-mile car journey to discover a surprise stowaway cowering next to the engine of their car -- a 6-week-old kitten.
The meows of the tiny animal only became audible after Elisabeth and Dieter Gesehl had parked their car.
"First of all we called the police as we feared for a moment that we must have run over and seriously injured a cat," the 64-year-old woman from Eggenfelden told Bonn express newspaper.
After checking under the hood, however, they discovered the unharmed kitten. The animal, which the couple have since adopted and named "Pussy," was soon back to normal after a few minutes of petting.
I had a similar experience but the outcome was totally different. What a mess.
"My brother always hits his horn and bangs on the hood before cranking his truck. Nothing more disturbing than killing a cat in the fan belt :("
That's one way, for sure. Neighbors might not think so, though, unless their cat was saved by the procedure.
A cat got stuck behind the engine block of a lady's car here in Dallas. We could not get him out. Dallas firefighters spend about 90 minutes trying to pry him loose. They finally used the giant airbag to lift the car and grabbed him from underneath. It was not injured at all. Someone took the cat home, but unfortunately it was wild and he had to let it go.
My mom recently had her van's power steering belt malfunction. The mechanic informed her it was covered in cat fur. Nuff said!

They took some honey,

Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
Indeed it is.
"A friend of mine heard a thud and a splat when starting his truck one morning about fifteen years ago...."
I have a friend who wondered how a sneaker ended up in the dryer. Just kept tumbling and thumping with the rest of the clothes. At the end of the cycle she discovered it wasn't a sneaker after all...
Where did this happen?
Concerning the snake, where did that happen?
A guy in St. Louis was driving to work on Hwy 144 when he heard a 'pop'. He thought it sounded like a flat tire, though his ride wasn't affected. After pulling over, checking the tires and finding them intact he opened the hood to look at the motor.
Before the hood was even all the way open he jumped back in shock and knocked his >head on the partially opened hood, unable to believe what his eyes were seeing! Nobody was going to believe this! .... you sure wouldn't have either! Fortunately, he had a camera in his glove compartment!!!!
Serious question: can a six-week-old kitten survive without its mother? That's extremely young and probably not weaned.
"Boy doesn't this engine really purr?"
: )
You kill an animal (including wild) or a tree in Germany and you just bought every possible offspring that animal/tree could have had and the offsprings of the offsprings. Hit a chicken and it will be a $10K chicken. Same goes for the near blind wild boar (the full grown ones are the size of small cars).
