And, while they may be harder to find, matches should be banned on flights too.

So you'd recommend strip searches to find them, right? If not, the matches are still gonna get on the plane. Then what're you gonna do?

Nope, no strip searches for them. (Dang people seemed to be obsessed with the strip searches! LOL) I know some will still get on the plane. But, this will at least minimize it.

Civil libertarians are embarrassing because they treat every government rule as a personal attack on their God given right to do whatever they want.

Banning a fire-staring device that contains combustable material from an airplane is not tantamount to strip searches and nudity. Get some perspective. There is no good reason to have a lighter on a plane, not a single one. So that fact that people are so vehemently against the ban is more due to a childish "you can't tell me what to do" than a real loss of liberty

It's just embarrassing is all
