Witnesses: Jury Wrongly Convicted Peterson
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. In tearful testimony, Scott Peterson's (search) family and friends pleaded with jurors to spare his life, contending that he was mistakenly convicted of killing his pregnant wife, Laci.
Defense witnesses have already testified that Peterson sang to seniors on Sundays, distributed food and clothes in Tijuana and that he was a good friend and loving son.
On the fifth day of the trial's penalty phase, Peterson's relatives questioned the jury's verdict.
"I don't believe he's guilty," said his uncle, John Lathamke to see him die. It would tear our family apart."
But jurors showed no expression, some even looking away or toward the ground as Latham spoke.
Testimony in the seven-month-old trial's penalty phase was set to continue Tuesday and run into the next day before closing arguments. Jurors were expected to begin deliberating Thursday whether to sentence Peterson to life without parole or the death penalty.
Peterson was convicted Nov. 12 of one count of first-degree murder in the death of his pregnant wife, Laci, and one count of second-degree murder for the killing of her fetus.
Prosecutors say he smothered or strangled Laci Peterson (search) in their Modesto home on or around Christmas Eve 2002, then dumped her body into San Francisco Bay. The remains of the victims were discovered about four months later a few miles from where Peterson claims to have been fishing alone the day his wife vanished.

exatly my point. The two juros kicked off--Guess what? They were leaning towards Not Guilty verdict...I Guess that was just a coincedence?
*exactly* *jurors*
If you want to promote your web site, do it in Bloggers & Personal.
We don't appreciate people trolling for hits.
If you were going to frame him, isn't that exactly where you would leave the body?
They were leaning towards Not Guilty verdict...I Guess that was just a coincedence?
There's NO way for you to know that.
They're gagged.
Their leanings have NOT been made public.
I think so too. I'm still wondering about the missing college coed where he went to college. Cops wanted to question him but he left college and went back to California. There was a lake whereever that was, N Mexico? Arizona? He lies so easily and never shows emotion that it makes you wonder. He only broke down yesterday because jurors were not showing any interest in what his family was saying. I say he has been excused his whole life for things by his parents. Wierd that his grandfather was murdered!
Don't be absurd.
Get real.
From the first reports of her disappearance...
that bay was watched. Your theory has been
regurgitated ad nauseum. It's silly.
Well, thank you so much for proving to everybody on this thread you don't know what you're talking about.
The lady juror who was removed was shown the door because she did her own investigating, which is against the LAW, dolt. Did the judge make her do that to hurry her off the jury?
And so you'll know -- and I'll know that you know so that when you continue with your rant we'll all know that facts don't matter to you -- SHE SAID SHE WAS LEANING TOWARD GUILTY.
The last guy, nobody knows.
You're not a credible poster.
Im not a self promoter buddy. Very few of my articles on FR mentions my website. And I wouldnt have mentioned it now, if it wasnt about the conversation were having. If I wanted to promote my website I would post articles on FR pointing people to my site.
I have Google, Yahoo, and Submitnet getting my dollars for that.
Oh, please; that bay was watched from the second she was missing.
And just so you'll know, the newspapers didn't announce WHERE he had been fishing until January.
What better place to kill your spouse than in your own home; she was small, vulnerable; he could have come up behind her and put a bag on her head; she was probably asleep!
Maybe you need to watch Fox news a little more. The last guy kicked off was interviewed on Fox News and said he was leaning toward NOT GUILTY and so was the doctor/lawyer on the jury! That is TWO NOT GUILTY verdicts kicked off.
I'm not a "buddy" in any sense of the word.
AND, I checked ALL of your forum posts
and you do use FR to promote your blog.
Glad im not the only one on here that saw this.
The guy "kicked off" MONTHS ago is Justin.
Why was he kicked off?
Because he had decided the case without hearing the evidence.
Try again.
The jury never announced they were deadlocked.
And what about the two jurors that were thrown off? Was the first one to go a hold out?
No, he was refusing to deliberate; you do know how juries work, don't you? All 12 people HAVE to deliberate; he had taken 19 notebooks of personal notes and wanted to go through them line by line; the other jurors had their OWN notes and didn't feel the need to go through five months of notes.
The second one leaning towards guilty and tossed from the jury to event the score like a referee making a second bad call to make up for an earlier bad call?
She was removed for MISCONDUCT, i.e., investigating the case on her own, which she ADMITTED; now, do you think the judge MADE her do that?
Hey! Certainly strippers in Tijuana need clothes and who wouldn't like a hamburger/taco after dancing all night.
Nonsense
You give me a hundred dollars and I'll show you several ways to do it.
