I have the answer...During the last ice age..the ground was buried by a glacier several hudred feet thick.. The locals slid the blocks out on the ice..little effort involved..then waited hundreds of years while the ice melted, so they could easily position the blocks atop each other on the ground, knowing that thousand of years in the future people would go bananas trying to figure it out..

A fresh theory on how Stonehenge was built has been tested out by a group of experts and enthusiasts. Gordon Pipes, of the Stonehengineers group of scientists and archaeologists, has suggested that levers may have been used to move the giant stones. They have tested his "stone-rowing" theory which involves a 45-tonne stone being levered on a track of logs
These intellectual dopes should check out this retired builder's website The Forgotten Technology He has already done TONNES of research. He has videos to show how one man can set theses stones. He has more common sense than these certified Stonehengineers and their ilk combined
