There is no way municipalities could afford  to enforce immigration laws.  Where would they incarcerate these people, the jails are already overcrowded illegals don't get bailed. Who takes them to court? Where do you get all the additional officers. Who pays for medical for the alien  and their dependants.

The only way that local and for that matter state police could possibly undertake enforcing immigration laws would require a whole new training program (federal law).

The feds right now won't accept arrested aliens leaving over worked under financed communities holding the bag. Border towns would be wasted.

The feds have the laws and money and they should do their job.

BTW should border towns have all this dumped on them.

Well, I wish I agreed with you but I don't.

We should round them up put them in holding pens, then bring in buses and bus them back to the border. They are already costing us more than it would take to bus their butts back. I don't think we should put them up in our jails, because that costs money too. No.. back to Mexico for the majority, and dump the others at their embassy's to deal with... on their own country's dime. Further, fine the the country for our costs.

The feds should do their job and the local's should do their job...

And no, it's not just a border town issue... that is rediculous IMO.. Your car insurance, health insurance and taxes are going up as a result of this problem being ignored... Multiculturalism is killing standards in education.... It's out of hand across the land, and must be dealt with in every community.. We need to get on the same page on this. National Security ignored is asking for trouble in any city.

I agree. I am related to a former Sheriff in Oklahoma. He could completely fill his jail with illegals in a couple days, if he wanted to bust his budget providing them with room, board and medical. He called the INS (once) after his deputies had arrested several illegals. They told him not to bother them unless he caught a whole busload and refused to pick them up. They had to let them go because they didn't have the funds to hold them.

They are pretty much limited to harassment measures. They can periodically roll into an area with illegals and watch them scurry off. I think most of the deputies would go the extra mile and arrest/hold them if the feds would just come pick them up.
