Me, dreamily: "Miniature Cannolis, uhmmm!"
. . . But are they, can they be, as good as the ones at Luigi's?
good info, tgsl, thanks.
any plans (or interest) for a delegation from NE FL to go up? does republican hq or young republicans or anyone arrange a chartered bus? the more I can save, the more goes into that all - important college fund...
Prayers for your husband's recovery from the heart attack. I hope he is home soon. Best wishes.
This looks like its gonna be loads of fun.
It's gonna be great!
Doc gave him an option: Lose weight or die in ten years.
He took the first option, of course.
(He's got lots and lots of energy nowadays, so prepare to stay up late!)
Great big whopping prayers going out for your husband, Fatima.
Take heart in Him, for He will abide.
If you need a room, just keep trying on the various hotel websites and travelocity, etc. Rooms become available whenever there is a cancellation, which happens regularly as people change their minds, etc.)
Also, get on wait lists!
The inauguration parade is way better than the inauguration ceremony, anyway!
The secret for finding tickets is to call your local Demorat Congress Critter. They have less demand.
Leahy's office just laughs when I ask for them. Jeffords and Sanders say they'll get back to me. I am still waiting to hear back from them for the 2001 inaugural.
Yeah but he lost that whole bluesman thing he had going.
I tell my wife my gut is for my bluesman persona too. She's not buying it.
Down here, we've got 7 Dem Congress Critters to hit up. Some are very helpful. Guess it helps to be in a bigger state, eh?
You can always buy tickets from www.greatseats.com (if you're nuts, that is)
Thanks for the ping.
A Bump for myself.
My guess is that angry Dem staffers are trying to turn a quick buck by selling their congressman's allotment of the free tickets; after all, why would they want to help out people who want to go to the inaugural ceremonies of their enemy - our president.
But that's just my cynical guess.
If a FReeper needs a room, I have one available. I first got a room at the Howard Johnson Express at 600 New York Ave NE (at Florida) in DC for the nights of the 19th and 20th but then got a room at the Hawthorne Suite in Alexandria for the same nights. The rate is $124.43 for the two nights, plust taxes.
There must be a way to transfer the reservation. I've got a 24 hour prior cancellation on it and it's held with a CC.
I am gonna maintain the reservation until a day or two before the ball.
The teenage girls I'm bringing just want to know if there will be any cute guys there.
And don't forget to check out this thread to see the generosity of folks who call themselves Freepers. Many who cannot attend the ball themselves have been donating to a fund to sponsor some of our wounded military members attendance at the ball.
Glaswegian, is your son coming with you all?
BTW, all Freeper guys are cute.
:-)
I'm looking forward to seeing you and your family again. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas.
