I don't think there is a fairer way to pay for road usage than to charge a toll proportional to the cost of the road. I just don't understand the objections.

I agree with the proportional tolls, my biggest objection is that most of the roads have been paid for with federal highway funds and fuel taxes. I have no problem with toll roads on FUTURE lanes or roads, but those under construction should be freeways. The way I understand the bill, is all roads under construction will be tolled.

I think the state intends to toll most of the new roads it builds, but I don't think the State plans to put tolls roads that already built or near completion. If they plan to toll existing roads, I (and I suspect much of the state) will have serious objections.
