Hillary Won't Run in 2008
WMAL Radio | 11/29/04

Posted on 11/29/2004 10:17:25 AM PST by carola

This morning on WMAL radio I heard someone, I believe it was Richard Leiby of the Washington Post Reliable Source column, say that Hillary Clinton has decided that she is too polarizing a person to win the presidency in 2008, so she will concentrate on raising money with the purpose of winning back the Senate for the Democrats.

This is a crock, and I don't think even he believed it because he commented on how much she has moved to the center and is cooperating with Republicans. If she had no designs on the presidency in 2008, she would be moving way to the left of Kennedy and Kerry as fast as her little legs would carry her. This is a typical Hillary lie which she thinks will calm anti-Hillary passions while she raises money and make plans for her inauguration in 2009.

Good analysis. Anybody who knows anything about politics understands that Hillary will be a very formidable candidate and probably the odds on favorite to win the general election. She may have a polarizing effect on the electorate, but she is a shrewd politician with money and rock star status. Hillary is and will be the darling of the MSM who long for a return to the Clinton years. She is now burnishing her image through her service in the Senate including being a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. The Security Moms will revert back to being the Soccer Moms.

If anyone at FR believes that America is going to elect a black female Republican for President

There are tens of thousands of Freepers who believe just that.

Kerry lost because millions of Americans recognized him for the commie traitor that he is.

By the way welcome to FR.

If memory serves accurately, Bill promised the Arkansas voters the last time he ran for Governor that he would fulfill his term if elected. Of course, he was elected, but didn't serve out his term. Hillary is doing the same thing, for no other reason than to increase her probability of being re-elected to the Senate in 2006. When election season 2008 comes around, she'll make the excuse that she has been drafted by her supporters and can't turn them down. Memories of the normal voters are short.

If she is lucky, McCain. But probably someone else. You doubt there is one out there?

This story is just bunk to deflect some of the animosity that is building toward Hillary and her 2008 plans. Hillary has decided that four years is too long to fend off the opposition, so instead she has opted to run again for the NY Senate seat, running a national campaign, under the guise of helping the Democrats retake the Senate. It's all part of the plan.

Another Republican.

Not Hitlary.

Sure bet to Stop Hitlary.

If I have to choose between a guarntee to STOP Hitlary with a Pseudo-Nixonian-Conservative or no guarantee with some other more Conservative cadidate, I would take the PNS.

Hitlary CAN NOT BE ALLOWED back in WH under ANY Circumstance.

"If anyone at FR believes that America is going to elect a black female Republican for President, then you are setting us up to lose big time."

First of no one on FR will be "setting up" anybody.

And secondly, you may need to come out of what ever corner of the world you are keeping yourself.

It isn't about "a black female Republican", but more about America and what kind of nation we will be.

A black female like Dr.Condoleeza Rice running against Hillary Clinton is a winner hands down. Especially should Dick Cheney step down within two years, (as has been suggested on this post) and Dr. Rice is the replacement VP, provided the country is doing well.

The nation, as a whole, does not look at Condoleeza as a "black female".

To most, other than the race baiting Jacksons, Sharptons and the "Aunt Jemima" crowd, Condi is an American statesman.(and I meant statesman)

This isn't your fathers country anymore. ;)

I would vote for Condi Rice over Kerry, Clinton, Dean, Schumer, Sharpton, Boxer, Feinstein, or any other Liberal RAT they put up.

At least Condi is a fighter. So much cannot be said for many RINO weenies.

If the object is to elect a RINO, then I'd much rather see Powell run than McLame.

Well, you and I know that, now all we have to do is convince bill1952 and a few million others. ;)

GOP women? Ask any woman you know if she would vote for Hillary, and if she isn't a member of some fringe lunatic group, such as NOW, or PETA, etc. etc., they will say not only no, but hell no.

I tend to agree with this to my surprise. When a few close friends started saying this from conversations with very liberal women my ears perked up. I had no idea. I thought all dem women would vote for any dem candidate but many of this ilk hate her. Very surprising.

I'll ignore your insults, and overlook the "setting up" fixation - thats' just a phrase.

I wrote that and I stand behind it.
This nation is not yet going to elect a black female president. Period.

That is my opinion, and note that there are no personal insults in this reply. :)

BTW, I would vote for Condi in a heartbeat.

It isn't millions of others we would need to convince, it's 10s of millions.

If the choice is between a liberal weenie who wants to apologize to the world for America's existence vs. a self starting ambitous, professional, brilliant, educated, Pro-American African American who will not back down to terrorists, I can not believe people who vote RAT just because she is black.

Condi is top shelf and pure class. The RATS are rodents.

I think she wants to be Majority Leader of the Senate.

That would out her just 3 deaths from the Oval Office...

As a Senator she has it made. There is no need to move to the Executive Branch and give up her fiefdom for life. She can move up to a leadership position in the Senate eventually and be heard every day throughout the world as well as having more control over the Federal budget than the President himself has. True national political power resides in the Senate.
