Thirsty Norm: Volunteer Rebecca Beasley holds Norm, a Kemp's Ridley sea turtle, as he is intravenously rehydrated with a potassium saline solution at the New England Aquarium in Boston. The turtle washed ashore at Cape Cod, Mass., after cold sea currents sent him into a dormant state.

We get a bunch of those, turtles, stunned by cold northern waters, floating to shore. Maybe it's a factor riding the warm Gulf stream waters north and then suddenly hitting cold water. And finally becoming stranded when the tide goes out.
