A resident of the northern Israeli-Arab town of Umm al Fahm earlier this week gave himself up to police and admitted he attempted to murder a Jewish man ten days ago, police reported on Friday.
On November 16, a 23-year-old Jewish man from the West Bank city of Ariel was stabbed in his back while waiting in a bus stop at the Geha junction in the center of the country.
The man said the stabber had a Middle Eastern appearance and an Arabic accent.
Earlier this week, Mustafa Mahajna, 28, arrived at a police station in the Dan district and admitted he was behind the failed murder attempt.
Mahajna said he had mistakenly taken the man, who was wearing military trousers, for a soldier, and that he wanted to grab his weapon and open fire on nearby people.
Mahajna explained he "wanted to carry out the sacrificial murder because of his hate for Israel."
The Magistrate's Court extended Mahajna's remand until Sunday.

Guess what is the only country in the middle east where arabs enjoy full freedom, democracy and high life quality- if you said Saudi Araabia or UAE you were way wrong- ebcause its Israel. The Israeli Arabs who stayed in Israel after 1948 War of Independence.
They should be very ashamed for doing what they are doing- working with the enemy.
It's going to be more and more of the same if a Hamas terroist takes the place of the PLO/PLF/PLFP terrorist who preceded him.
I wouldn't have said the UAE. My brother was stationed there for a while.

However UAE is the most "developed" country among the entire Arab and Mouslim world.
However democracy or freedom does not really exist there also.
Guess Arabs were too many to pick from.
The most happy Arabs in the region are in Israel, and if some of them wish to become "shahids", they are welcome to move to Gaza/ Syria/ Lebanon/ UAE/ France :)/ or to any other of the 22 Arab countries.

I understood what you were saying. I was saying I know from my brother's account what it's like in the UAE, so I certainly wouldn't think it was a democracy.

It was someone who called in that made that suggestion. Frankly, the idea that a lot of islamic beliefs or practices come from paganism is entirely plausible to me. Why would you say that Medved is an idiot?
Actually it was Medved's topic for at least an hour.
It could have been more, but I can only stand his caffeine-fueled excited feminine liberal whining, interrupting-and-talking-over-always-ending-with-a-question-so-the-caller's-point-is-negated-and-replaced-with-Medved's "dialogue" for so long.
Contrast style/substance/tone/happiness with Prager or Lapin.
But I digress.
What really annoyed me was his refusal to fully associate islamic beheadings and islamic corpse desecration with islam. He went way too lightly and focused instead on very distant practices in effect minimizing and reducing what the demons are doing to "What's the big deal, this has been going on forever?"
If you think I'm too hard on Medved, listen to him for an hour. Calculate the average number of full, complete, uninterrupted post-greeting and pleasantry sentences he allows callers from call start to his first word. Depending on the day and topic I think you'll find it to be between zero and two.

I said Medved's an idiot because he's dealing with a very, very, serious subject in a far too cavalier and "intellectually detached" way.
I also think he's an idiot (and worse) for invoking Holocaust imagery when "proving" Bush's amnesty plan was the best way to deal with illegal aliens (but that's another story).
I listen to Medved every day and he is my favorite radio host by far. Sometimes he ticks me off with opinions I strongly disagree with, but I find him the most informative and interesting host.
I know he appreciates your listenership - in the greatest nation on G-d's green earth, upward and onward!
