I first learned of Guye Fawkes by listening to John Lennon's song "Remember". Wondered why the last line was "Remember, remember, the 5th of November".

This is where the word "GUY" came into use. At first it was naturally used to mean a bad person. You'd call them a Guy. Over time it mellowed out to mean an ordinary male.
