His final speech

Does that mean he's dead now?

We've had a sax player; I think it's time for a guitar player in the White House. Go out there tomorrow and Vote for Change!

I think Bruce Springsteen needs to get his hearing checked. Because we didn't have a sax player in the White House - we had a sex pervert! And Kerry doesn't play much at guitar but he sure does know how to play at being a gigolo! Must be that all those years of loud rock music messed up his hearing.

Career suicide?
Instead of his celebrity influencing the election, the result of the election will, undoubtedly, terminate his comatose career.

Why would anyone care for the thoughts or words of a mediocre singer?

The Springsteens of the world always could say anything they wanted through the MUSIC. The minute they step out of the fanatasy image they've used to sell millions of records, the mystique is lost and they look like a bunch of preening, preachy arses like the rest of us.

And notice how they always wait until they're filthy rich and set for life to do so.

"When in our history did America stand for all of that??"

Never, except in the works of Lenin and his ilk, and in the inane prattlings of self-serving elites who haven't a clue how the real world operates!

Have your spouse buy his CDs used on eBay.
Only the original buyer profits "Bruce" and he gets nothing "extra", that way.

Nope, haven't heard a peep from that simpleton since the election.
Man, I used to have respect for that guy. I was a fan when he was playing the Jersey shore in the early '70s. His 1974 appearance at Penn State's Eisenhower Auditorium was one of the best concerts I ever saw. I never imagined he would go Hollywood.

And when John Kerry wins tomorrow

No more tomorrows for either of these losers. A tired ass traitor want to be gigolo and a short washed up dumb ass trying to act like a tough guy. They deserve each other.

His "fans" are lost in a haze of diminished short term memory and the feeling that they have heard that song somewhere before. No wonder none of them turned out for the vote, they could care less about anything this old dried up POS has to say. Their lives revolve around the next beer, shooter or hit off of the bong.

The bruce-man had one good song, and it was on his first album..."Born to Run" knocked me out

Bingo! I remember hearing BTR for the first time, and was blown away by the faux-Spector production. Bruce never surpassed that moment.

As an aside, I remember a funny letter in the late, great Creem magazine that theorized that Bruce, Patti Smith and Eno were all the same person. "Eno says he doesn't know anything about song structure; Patti and Bruce prove it with every LP!"

I've never heard anything (song or political statement) by this guy. Somehow I don't think I've missed anything.
