This article was published today in one of Spain's most influential newspapers, El Mundo (published in Madrid). I was in Spain two weeks ago and you can see that the Spaniards are beginning to realize that they made a grave mistake in electing this Socialist opportunist, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. Thank God that we, in America, did not make the mistake in electing Zapatero's ideology twin, John Kerry.

Good job Wall Street Journal! Zapatero is indeed a total A$$HOLE! And good on Bush too for not returning his calls.

It's the OKC bombing that propelled Clinton into the Presidency. When is the MSM going to acknowledge their own sins?

Thanks for your efforts in translating this. Interesting that Spain may be waking up to the error they've made in electing this man.

Furthermore, the WSJ mentions the "affinity" that Zapatero shares with the "last remnants of Socialism in Latin America".

I think the WSJ is a little premature in claiming that Cuba and Chavez are the "last remnants of Socialism in Latin America."

Have they forgotten about Lula-land?
Or maybe they've decided that communists who embrace "free trade" are respectably acceptable.

Good, I'm glad they are beginning to see that. I loved the fact that Dubya invited the King and Queen of Spain to his ranch and that he had Aznar as a guest at the WH as well.

He is sending a signal to the Spanish people that their sorry leader will not destroy the relations with the US, only put them on hold while he is in power.

But Zapatero has Chavez and Castro with whom to consort.

They all deserve each other.

Wishful thinking on the part of WSJ. Spain didn't want to fight terrorists and they proved it with this election. Another thing, Spain was conservative for only a short period of time. The country has returned to what it was and has not descended into some dark paragraph in it's history.

"I do not want to be a great leader". With this phrase, expressed by Rodríguez Zapatero "

Then you have been a smashing success.
Other great quotes:

"I just want to die in prison with my brains bashed out."
Jeffry Dahmer

"I want to go down as the biggest jerk to be in the WhiteHouse."
William Jefferson Clinton

"I want to be sued into bankruptcy."
Michael Jackson

"I want to prove I am an incompetent lawyer."
Mark Garagos

Spain, unlike France, produces men like Aznar and the good guys will be back there just like they came back here after Clinton.

"'Presidente por casualidad (The Accidental Prime Minister)'"

You know, now I think about it, this is what he really is. The former PM was expected to win, until the bombing occurred, but then 'the Accidental Prime Minister' was elected instead, by accident. I hope this is was he will be known as over there?
