WACO, Texas -- At one time, the debate over Darwin's theory existed as a cartoon in the modern imagination. Thanks to popular portrayals of the Scopes Trial, secularists regularly reviewed the happy image of Clarence Darrow goading William Jennings Bryan into agreeing to be examined as an expert witness on the Bible and then taking him apart on the stand.

And why then did Darwin himself acknowledge intelligent design?

As a right-wing conservative, I am startled to see how dumb some of you guys are. Do you really think that some "intelligent designer" would have made such a botch out of this world? And if the was an "intelligent designer", don't you think that we'd see some tiny scrap of evidence of his existence? If the conservatives have to rely on some ancient superstition to prevail politically, then maybe I'm on the wrong side.

There are "Evolutionists" that claim that apes are "descended" from humans. The fact of the matter is that Evolution cannot be proven. But we're supposed to accpet it as fact. No Sale here.

If you don't believe in intelligent design then you aren't a right-wing conservative. You're just a fiscal conservative who's an atheist.
I'm startled that you're so dumb you can't see this obvious fact.

And that answer would be where? Certainly not on this post. Actually this isn't the first Darwinist/Ellen G Whiteist thread in FR.
And the Creationiods always come up with the same Jack Chick talking points. It gets old.

Trouble is, there's no evidence to support evolution, only hype... On the other hand, creation has been gaining ground since Durwin (misspelled intentionally) got a wild idea because of a few bird beaks, and tortoise shells. The fossil record still supports creationism. Hallelujah!! And amen.

Wow. Such an insightful question. I cannot imagine why the argument about evolution continues in light of such incredible scholarship.
Can you point me to chapter and verse in Darwin's "Origin of the Species" in which Darwin makes the claim that the species from which others evolve must necessarily die out?
I didn't think so.

And the Darwinists come up with the same defense. "It's because Darwin says so."
Never mind that even Darwin acknowledged a greater power, he was obviously not nearly as smart as you are.
