Wow. Such an insightful question. I cannot imagine why the argument about evolution continues in light of such incredible scholarship.
Can you point me to chapter and verse in Darwin's "Origin of the Species" in which Darwin makes the claim that the species from which others evolve must necessarily die out?
I didn't think so.

We didn't descend from apes. We share a common ancestor.

Don't shoot the messenger:
Apes still floating around is not a problem for Evolution. In a nutshell...
The theory goes that Isthmus of Panama rose up due to volcanic activity a few million years ago. This stopped the free flow of water from the Pacific to the Atlantic. This resulted in a difference in the saline levels of the oceans which resulted in changes in ocean temperature which led to changes in wind patterns. These new wind patterns and the rain patterns that accompanied them resulted in the large sections of forests of Africa turning into plains. (This part I believe is factual from geological evidence.)
According to the Out of Africa Evolution Theorists 7 million years ago the apes that left the forest to seek out food on these newly deforested plains eventually evolved into humans. Walking upright is supposed to be the advantageous trait that made food gathering on the plains easier followed by social groups and language to communicate for hunting. Apes are still around because some of them never left the forest.

For the millionth time then, why are there still apes?I'm sure some wise soul has already pointed this out, but once all animalistic voters evolve into Republicans, then for the Dem party to still exist, they'll need a pool to work from...

For the millionth time then, why are there still apes? Perhaps if you understood the theory of evolution as has been explained to you a million times you would understand. Nevermind. You have a closed mind and only read the creation sites that present there false arguments againts evolutionary theory.

WACO, Texas -- At one time, the debate over Darwin's theory existed as a cartoon in the modern imagination. Thanks to popular portrayals of the Scopes Trial, secularists regularly reviewed the happy image of Clarence Darrow goading William Jennings Bryan into agreeing to be examined as an expert witness on the Bible and then taking him apart on the stand. ........wasn't this 'trial' totally/mutually 'fixed' from the get-go...?
The 'GREAT GAME' goes on........
