Image released by the White House of the 2004 White House Christmas card featuring the Red Room. President and Mrs. Bush highlight the Red Room of the White House in the 2004 White House Christmas card. Designed by Cindi Holt of Fort Worth, Texas, the original oil on canvas painting shows the room decorated for the holidays with a cranberry topiary and a glowing fireplace.
Yes, that's what it reminded me of, too.
I was surprised to receive this in the mail today - the return address was the White House, but it was post marked in Crawford, TX.
Red X :-( Try resending.
It was merely my response to Red Rum.
Nice...It's Over, Johnny...RIP 11/2/04...
I received my first Christmas card yesterday in the mail. I'd thought to myself, "Someone's really on the ball this year."
It's from the President and the First Lady. Beautiful card with a gold Presidential Seal embossed on the inside. A keeper.
I got mine yesterday in the mail. My family loves it. I guess I got one because of the volunteer work and contributions made to the campaign. On the back it does mention that it was paid for by the RNC. I believe it is supposed to depict the Red Room decorated for the Holidays. A little busy, but tasteful nonetheless.
"How does one go about receiving a Christmas card from the White House?"
I was actually surprised that I received one. I donated a small amount of money to the President's campaign (only $50, I'm no rich commie like Soros), and I volunteered as a poll watcher. So I'm not really sure what got me on the list.
I got my card, also the first card of the Christmas season. I'm sure I get the card because I contribute to the RNC on a continual basis. Not a lot, maybe $100-150 a yr.
The other day I was reading all your posts about the Christmas card you received from the President and First Lady, and I felt a tinge of envy. THEN I GOT ONE!!! I had worked with the Republican HQ before the election, so I assume everyone who helped get our president reelected did? It sure looks pretty up there on my mantel!
I got mine last week. I love the fact that it's red.
I certainly wasn't trying to make anyone envious! It was just really exciting for me--now that you got a card too, you know what I mean.
I sent one small contribution and several letters to them. We live in a very red state, so I didn't really "work" to get him re-elected like so many people did.
Glad you got a card!
I received mine today also..Was surprised when I picked up the mail and saw the return address was from the White House & postmarked from Crawford, TX.
