So Powell believes the (possibly skewed and inaccurate) exit polls more than the official vote counters? Is he pulling a Jimmy Carter?

We know our own exit polls were total crap. I suspect voters exiting their polls in Ukraine would be even less likely to answer unofficial surveys honestly.

How much difference was there between the two in the Ukraine election?

Why do you think this has anything to do with exit polls? I don't even know that they DO exit polls in the Ukraine.

Time to align yourself with W or Putin.

Putin wants Ukraine in a Russia-Belarus-Ukraine Axis.

W wants Ukraine in NATO and the EU.

The Cold War is back. I hope you're on America's side.

That is a good question and is debatable. The one thing we do know is that Putin is trying his best with the aid of the Russian mob to alter the results of the election. Much of this started last night when Dick Morris stated there was massive election fraud. Morris was a consultant for Yushchenko before the election. He said they were not allowed to buy tv ad time or newspaper ads and had to get their message out with weakly leaflets. According to Morris their exit polls showed that Yushchenko won by a good margin. That's part of the story anyway.

Only if you're referring to the raw early round of data (which was only a partial sampling), uncorrected for demographics. The later, adjusted numbers were pretty close. I'm assuming that in the Ukraine, they're basing their assessment on the final exit poll data, as they did in Venezuela.

Those exit polls were only held in Kiev and the western oblasts: aka like having them in Washington, west coast and ne as proof Kerry won.

The opposition started claiming fraud and victory from the moment balloting started.

Oh and Soros is behind the opposition.

It's not all about exit polls. That's a red herring. There has been, as I understand it, lots of actual fraud that they know of. Ukraine has a great deal of corruption by all accounts.

I think if Powell makes such a statement it is - given the U.S. spying capabilities - surely not only based on some third party exit polls.
