They should all get kicked out of the league for good. They get too many passes on their thug behavior. They don't know how good they have it and never seem to leave their gang life behind-if they started kicking them out all together maybe they would learn to behave in a more civil manner. And some of the fans should get heavy fines or never allowed back into games.

No, Wallace got too much of a suspension. Artest is a dirty player and Wallace had had enough. While he did deserve a suspension, 3 games was about right. He kept his anger on the court.

Disagree. That's like blaming gun makers for violence.
No one forced the fans to throw anything. They made choices on their own.

Never mind. I see he's a rapper. And, why post rappers' happenings here? He's a NBA basketball player. Rush mentioned a few weeks ago that he wanted to take a month off (during the season) to promote his albumn.

Oh, the humanity! Where will we turn for thug-related unintentional comedy for the rest of the NBA season? (sarcasm)
To: Dan from Michigan
Ok. So he's a basketball player, but someone says he's also a thug.
But what did he do to acknowledge him here on these threads. Did he find a cure for stroke?

I did not say the others deserved less. But it was Wallace's woofing that incited the locals in the crowd. Peter Vescey said it would have been better to let them fight which I agree, it is all the woofing and posing after the authorities have stepped in which causes the problems. Whether it is at school or on the street, it is the woofers that always start the riots. There was a riot last week at a Southern Cal. high school which was under reported nationally, but you can bet it was the woofers who started the riot.

But what did he do to acknowledge him here on these threads. Did he find a cure for stroke? Did you complain about the hundred's of Scott Peterson threads? This news is actually news.

Anthony Johnson - My husband doesn't know who he is but thinks Piston - you can read it on www.espn.go.com - right hand side
To: SandyInSeattle
He's an NBA thug.
Chad Kreuter who went into the stands at Wrigley field to brawl with fans in 2000 got an 8 game suspension.
Buut...he's a pasty white guy and there's no evidence he likes rap or hip hop, so I guess that penalty was appropriate.

NBA Press release........
NEW YORK, Nov. 21 -- The following suspensions were announced today by NBA Commissioner David Stern, resulting from the events during the Indiana Pacers at Detroit Pistons game on Nov. 19.
- Pacers forward Ron Artest has been suspended for the remainder of the season.
- Indiana guard Stephen Jackson has been suspended for 30 games.
- Pacers forward Jermaine ONeal has been suspended for 25 games.
- Indiana guard Anthony Johnson has been suspended for five games.
- Detroit forward/center Ben Wallace has been suspended for six games.
- Pistons forwards Elden Campbell and Derrick Coleman and guard Chauncey Billups have each been suspended for one game for leaving the bench during an on-court altercation.
- Indiana guard Reggie Miller has been suspended for one game for leaving the bench during an on-court altercation.
In announcing todays actions Commissioner David Stern issued the following statement:
The penalties issued today deal only with one aspect of this incident that of player misconduct. The actions of the players involved wildly exceeded the professionalism and self-control that should fairly be expected from NBA players. We must affirm that the NBA will strive to exemplify the best that can be offered by professional sports, and not allow our sport to be debased by what seem to be declining expectations for behavior of fans and athletes alike.
There are other issues that the NBA must urgently focus on at this time. First, we must redefine the bounds of acceptable conduct for fans attending our games and resolve to permanently exclude those who overstep those bounds. Participants in and around the court must be assured complete protection from unacceptable fan behavior. Second, we must re-examine the adequacy of our current security procedures in Detroit and our other 28 arenas. The actions at Fridays game, though unprecedented, must now be factored into all efforts to guarantee the well-being of our fans. Third, we must develop and implement new NBA rules to assure that the unavoidable confrontations likely to occur in the heat of competition are not allowed to escalate to the level we witnessed on Friday even prior to the egregious behavior by individuals in the stands.
