About the subs,there are different stories about why we got the British ones, but I'm sure some politician being paid off was the determining factor. As to our foreign policy,it was hi jacked by the last PM that had some anti american extreme bias, I think to score points with the french province of Quebec. The conservative voices come from the West,and also from the business community,because Canada is the US largest trading partner.So keeping borders safe and monitoring them is advantageous to all. Actually,i think you would find also if you talk to field people from FBI or our RCMP, there is a lot of very good cooperation, collaboration. The problem is at the political levels.

I think it is absolutely appalling that the British would stiff you Canadians with a defective submarine like they did. Especially one that is apparently totally unsafe to sail even for a shakedown cruise.
