The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

"We should have secured the Mexican border."

That could be the pitiful lament we hear from negligent U.S. officials if Al Qaeda pulls off an attack on the United States using weapons of mass destruction smuggled across our southern frontier.

Were that horrendous event to happen, leaders in the administration and Congress would be justly hit with the same question that was perhaps unjustly cast at them and their predecessors after the unprecedented Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks: Why didn't they connect the dots?

No other information has been provided, just from the wording of the page it sounds like it could be a drill.

Thanks, What you just summed up for me there is a very real awareness of what is happening. Something is up, for sure. I just hate sparking up a conversation with somebody about this, advising them to stock up on the essentials and they laugh because everybody thinks we are so safe when if an attack were to happen it wont be used with missles/helicopers/stuff of that like. I believe the method of attack that AQ wants to use is hitting us internally.

It bugs the living sh!t out of me everyday how people dismiss Al Queda. I believe only because it's they are invisible and their minds are focused on Scott Peterson more than global events.

What happened to the good old Larry King that used to have roundtable discussions about security with a panel of experts, not Zsa Zsa Gabor's poodle! (something we should be focusing on bigtime right now).

Sometimes i almost feel that this whole state of keeping up with all of these events make other people either dumb or delusional. Something DOES SEEM TO BE UP BUT to make someone realize the extent of this would take huge brain information transfusion from what I've been reading/seeing on the net for 2+ years.

--Just my two cents guys, like I almost wanna shake a person and say WILL YOU WAKE THE F UP THERE IS SOMETHING BIG LINGERING IN THE AIR!! OR SO IT SEEMS! And they are more worried about paying a parking ticket when I am laughing at them about saving their money for REAL THINGS.

That was the date of the pre-election UBL tape.

If reported correctly, both incidents came 5-6 hours after the release of each tape.

In August, The Investigators on Eyewitness News 4 first reported the possible threat of terrorists using the Arizona/Mexico border to cross into the U.S.

While local government officials and immigration advocates questioned the validity of such a threat, our report, "Terrorist Alley," gained national attention.

Just a few weeks ago, high-level sources told a Washington newspaper that Chechen terrorists have entered the U.S. through our state.

Now, we've uncovered even more evidence that the threat along our border is real.

"The story you did was 100% accurate. It showed what's happening on the border on a daily basis. It was completely accurate," says a Border Patrol agent.

This Southern Arizona Border Patrol agent came forward to talk with The Investigators about his concerns regarding homeland security along the Arizona/Mexico border. He does not want to be identified, but we've verified his employment through pay stubs and high-level sources.

As our cameras had captured this day, hundreds of illegal entrants sneak into Arizona from Mexico.

Items left behind, like a Muslim prayer rug and a diary written in Arabic have led some to believe not all crossers are from Central and South America.

Good morning Velveeta, skeggsaw and everyone. Driving over the mountain this morning I saw a very low flying jetliner (looked like a DC-10) heading in an odd direction. I half expected to see heavy smoke rising in the east once I got over the crest. Thank the Lord there was none, but that jet spooked me good.

Then I scanned the post about Union Station being evacuated and got spooked all over again. I've been edgy for a few days now without any logical explanation. Just a gut feeling that I pray is without merit.

I agree with skeggsaw. I fear that something is up.

Automatically, every morning I put the 3-day emergency kit in the car and pray it won't be needed. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Pray for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Seems to me we're locked in a war of attrition right now. It was almost 8 years between the 2 attacks on the WTC. Our enemies are patient and so we must be patient, focused, and ready.

I find it interesting that on the same day that the EU is voting to add Turkey.....which the Germans do not want to happen, and are very vocal in their opposition to adding Turkey this happens....
