Many of us have led corporate teams and we know there's nothing worse than have a team member not aligned with your corporate and unit goals. I'm not talking about honest disagreement and open airing of different views. I'm talking about people that actively work against your goals and sabotage your efforts.
I think Colin Powell was more in the latter camp. It's going to be much better having Dr. Rice at State because she is much more aligned with President Bush's goals.
If so, I seem to be in good company around here (not just the usual lunatics).

I sure do feel bad for her. She's one of the smartest people in the country and she gets characterized as a mammy and a whore. It's interesting that those are the two positions that were once characterized as the only choices for black women. (Or for that matter--any woman: taking care of babies are "taking care of" men.)
Haven't we come a long way as a country??? Fortunately, I think her critics will be on the wrong side of history on this matter. And I also think, although this is just a guess, that if those said critics ever spent a few minutes with her face to face, they would be in awe. I mean, she's the type that can play Mozart, speak Russian and discuss international politics ALL AT THE SAME TIME.
