I agree with your sentiments. I still struggle with the story of a little 9 month or so baby (also in WA state, strangely) who screamed every time the lights went out because she was afraid the man who sexually abused her might come back. That man was facing probation, I haven't heard what happened since. The baby's mother walked in on the abuse and it took her months to report it because she couldn't get her mind around witnessing that evil *(or something like that). These stories don't just affect those involved - they affect all of us who cry that children are being hurt everywhere.. right now.. by those who are supposed to protect them.

BTW - I just posted on the thread a link & pics of Bradley's foster parents who loved him and wanted to adopt him, but were turned down because his "real" mom had "rights."

I found that story, posted here on FR awhile back. I am bittersweet in a report that while he didn't get sufficient time handed down (4 years) (maybe they'll take care of this scum in prison) - at least he didn't get probation as was the fear before he was sentenced. (His dad is in charge of corrections, too).

Baby Raped: Will Justice be served?

Update

Man gets four years in rape of baby

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

KENT -- The son of Washington state's corrections chief was sentenced to four years in prison yesterday for raping his 2-month-old daughter.

Joseph Lehman Jr., 38, pleaded guilty in October in a plea bargain, hoping to avoid a prison term. King County prosecutors had recommended six months in jail and at least three years of treatment for sexual deviancy.

But Superior Court Judge Ronald Kessler decided on the four-year prison term because Lehman has a criminal record. The standard state sentence for first-degree child rape is seven to 10 years.

Lehman's father, Joseph Lehman Sr., has headed the Department of Corrections for six years.

ckg, I think some of these judges that do this (like what happened to Bradley) will someday face judgement. A judgement far greater than what they would receive here on earth. IMHO.
