Our side created the rule and should abide by it. It was adopted when the RATS had actual criminals in their leadership. We know this particular indictment -- if it even happens -- will be a partisan sham, but it has to be fought under the rule of law. I am disappointed; I think the House GOP is acting like typical politicians in this case. It's the kind of beltway behavior that lets the Senate decide against impeaching Clinton even though the case was there beyond a shadow of a doubt. There would be no practical harm in Delay setting aside the title temporarily -- he could still call the shots, as he did before he had the actual title. I doubt there will even be an indictment.
The rule was silly then, it is silly now.
