What is the point and what's in it for them?
...and Pennsylvania.
Oh thats easy..
The Greens want to chissle off Democrats that are pissed off at Kerry. They can claim "We did something, when Kerry just quit.. come join the Green Party". They will get good democrat PR out of this.
Extra for Experts: Guess the conspiracy!
Here's how to play. After the Ohio recount reproduces Bush's victory, what conspiracy theory will the tinfoil hats on DU come up with?
A) The Greens & Libertarians only sponsored the recount because they knew the results beforehand, and wanted a Bush win so they could take advantage of frustrated Democrat disgust with Kerry, thereby peeling off voters.
B) The Ohio Secretary of State met with Kathleen Harris, who actually quarterbacked the entire fraud from Florida. Faux travel records and unverifiable stories posted on 'news' sites nobody's every heard of help to 'document' the whole affair.
C) Jews.
D) The Democratic Leadership Committee, realizing that a Kerry win in Ohio would somehow work against Howard Dean's bid to take over the Chairmanship of the DNC, worked with GOP operatives to make sure the recount kept Ohio in the Bush column.
Vote now, or feel free to submit your own entry!
I'm sure the numbers get boring, but a couple of more counties (Clinton and Warren) are posted and they clearly show Bush getting his base percentage of all qualified provisional and overseas votes minus about 3 percent. Again, we see as a fact that in at least some of the Republican counties, provisional ballots are cast also by Republicans. There is no 80 percent trend. In these two counties, the late votes total more than the possible provisionals, so there were quite a few overseas absentees.
As reality sinks in more and more, these folks can only turn to conspiracy theories to create some sort of meaning out of life. The recount is based on an Orwellian theory of vote count manipulation.

Is the Constitution Party involved in this recount effort, as well?
Its just the tip of the iceburg now.

these two dorkheads got their money from the DNC, ya think?
Some very straightforward questions to try to nail down this cluster frik of a counting process.
I've heard there are 93,000 spoiled ballots to be evaluated. Is this still true? Did spoiled ballots get evaluated and counted in the last election?
If so, what was the breakdown of Bush vs Gore in the spoiled ballots that were deemed countable?
How many provisional ballots are there?
What was the breakdown of Bush vs Gore in the provisionals of 2000?
How many absentee ballots are there? What was the Bush/Gore breakdown of those in 2000?
What other BS categories of ballots hang out in the rafters awaiting "sudden" discovery? Including hospital votes, boxes of ballots somebody "forgot" about, and any other wacko pack of votes this wimpy secretary of state can be led by the nose to count?
Bush has a lead of 136,000, the last I heard. And anybody who relies on statistics to confidently project that it would be impossible for there to be an 80% break for Kerry - just does not understand Democrats and their lying, cheating and stealing ways. Hence - the very straightforward questions to determine if it is mathematically in the bag for Bush.
Never. They think losing is noble.
Thanks
Looks like the disgruntled election losers have found a way to pay back Ohio for being a red state.
From the dem site, Daily Kos, on this topic, a poster says:
"While I have no doubt that the recount will probably cost at least this much (1.5 million), especially if it comes down to examining all the rejected punchcards, I also believe this is the first salvo of a relentess chorus of complaints about "wasting taxpayers money."
Be prepared."
and another said, "I am sure Blackwell has money sitting in the election bank because he never spent the $123 million in federal dollars (i think that was the amount) that was given to Ohio for election reform"
My comment - as if that makes it alright!
ahh , but they're out to "eliminate" bush votes that thye're going to claim were in the machines by fraud -
you gotta believe they've had enough time now to get their fraud ducks in a row - and even if the election is certified - and they can't change it - they' can chant the "stolen election" mantra another 4 years...
Dear God, when are they going to be stopped!
A long time. Rush Limbaugh said that the Soviet Union planted "Seeds" in the United States. These "Seeds" sprung up in the Democratic Party. That's what we are fighting now.
I'd say let them waste their money. The Left is not going to be able to claim Ohio was "stolen" from them, that ALL the votes were counted and that it was fair, transparent and clean. Let the Libertarians and Greens bring it on. Its not going to change the results.
they are indeed still counting absentees in calif. You can look at the sec state web site day by day and see the uncounted number shrink and the counted number grow. On 11/3, there were 2 million late votes still out. That is now down to about 1 million, with 11.5 million total votes counted. That is one reason the running national total now has bush over 60 million, and Kerry over 57.
